The Cross-Border Working Group on Synthetic Drugs

The Cross-Border Working Group on Synthetic Drugs (WG) is a broad alliance of civil society organizations convened by the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) and the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA) to promote humane and effective drug policy.

The WG brings evidence-based analysis and policy proposals grounded in science, health, compassion, social justice, and human rights to decision-makers. We are committed to helping legislators and other stakeholders identify and champion health-based strategies that will save lives and avoid reinforcing the prohibitionist policy status quo, which has created lethal drug supplies, driven the overdose crisis, empowered organized crime, and is again mistakenly looking for military options to solve a public health crisis.

Inclusion in the working group does not necessarily imply endorsement of, or agreement with, the contents of all positions or recommendations made by individual working group members.
