How do we actually educate young people about drugs? Pulling from her questions as a parent, Marsha Rosenbaum consulted experts, including a diverse group of parents, teachers, researchers and young people themselves. She looked at school-based drug education, its history, curricula and existing evaluations. The result was Safety First: A Reality-Based Approach to Teens and Drugs, a publication that eventually inspired a curriculum (that is now managed by Stanford’s REACH Lab).
