Paul Dana

Managing Director of Development and Political Strategy

Paul Dana is the Managing Director of Development and Political Strategy at Drug Policy Alliance where he oversees the organization’s fundraising. Prior to joining DPA, he worked as a principal gifts fundraiser for 10 years at the American Civil Liberties Union, securing over $100 million in contributions for their advocacy and legal work. He has also served in various development roles at Girl Scouts in the USA, Pace University, and Hunter College.

Paul has built and led innovative fundraising campaigns around ballot referenda, civil rights, and electoral campaigns. He is also a certified philanthropic advisor and specializes in helping philanthropists to maximize their impact and engage their families in their giving. Paul has been instrumental in developing and fundraising for numerous ballot referenda in recent years focused on issues ranging from voting rights to reproductive rights and privacy.

Paul has a B.A. from the CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies and an M.P.A. from Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College.
