Columbia University Students for Sensible Drug Policy and the Drug Policy Alliance are organizing a one-of-a-kind panel discussion this Wednesday that will examine the scientific, cultural and public health implications of MDMA (“Molly”) and its imprints on hip-hop music and culture.

Over the last few years, the hip hop community has discovered MDMA, more commonly known as "molly", which has spurred provocative discussions about drugs, music, communities and the effects of criminalization on the public’s health. However, many myths about the drug persist and much of its history remains untold.
This event will encourage students and the public to engage in honest and open dialogue about MDMA and to promote science-based drug education. The event will feature several music videos and news coverage illustrating MDMA’s resurgence in popular culture.
