Grey Gardner

State Director, California

Grey Gardner is the California State Director for the Drug Policy Alliance, where he leads strategic advocacy to enact policy change at the state and local level. He has developed initiatives and drafted legislation to reform drug and criminal system laws in states nationwide.

Prior to joining DPA he served as a trial attorney at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and supervising attorney at the Legal Aid Society in New York City and litigated in trial and appellate courts while in private practice. Additionally, he served in legislative and political roles in the United States House and Senate. Grey holds degrees from Grinnell College in Iowa and the American University Washington College of Law and is licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
