-
Online

Relay is a hospital-based nonfatal opioid overdose response program run by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Relay dispatches Wellness Advocates, trained peer advocates, to collaborating emergency departments 24/7 to engage with patients immediately following an opioid overdose and offer risk reduction education, overdose prevention training and naloxone, as well as navigation to harm reduction, drug treatment, and other support services.

This presentation will provide an overview of the Relay program, a summary of data collected since the program launched in June 2017, and share experiences from delivering the Relay intervention.

Presenters:

  • Angela Jeffers, Director of Relay
  • Alice Welch, Director of Relay Data and Evaluation
  • Jaime Holder, Wellness Advocate
